Mixtape Countdown Nostalgia Blast
This project (among others) has been on hold for a while ... in this case because I had wanted to post a few audio clips along with it, but since Buzznet has replaced its audio player with ads, that's not gonna happen.
I mean, lookit this list below! Some of the segues between songs are so hilarious: Ode to Joy into Particle Man into Bridge Over Troubled Water; Ted, Just Admit It followed by Dream Academy ... silly, silly sounds! It would have been fun.
Also, note how 808 State landed at #808. You can't make this stuff up!

I captured a few ads on the tail end of this tape, including one Toronto area people may remember: used car salesman Al Palladini: "any Palladini is a palla mine!" This was before the Mike Harris government (*p'tui*) made Palladini Minister of Transportation. Yes, the Minister of Transportation was a used car salesman. And the Minister of Education was a highschool dropout. Stupid right wingers.
